Job Summary
TalentWise is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assembly Lead to join our team and work on site for one of our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling products and components according to specifications and ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision. This role is crucial in supporting production operations and delivering top-quality products for our customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly Operations:
- Assemble products and components according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to perform assembly tasks.
- Ensure that all parts are properly fitted and secured.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of assembly technicians.
- Delegate tasks and ensure that work is distributed appropriately across the team.
- Monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Conduct team meetings and communicate goals, production targets, and updates.
- Production Oversight:
- Ensure the assembly team meets production schedules and deadlines.
- Monitor workflow and optimize assembly processes for efficiency and quality.
- Assist in the assembly of products when necessary, ensuring that all processes meet design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during production, including equipment malfunctions and workflow bottlenecks.
- Quality Control:
- Oversee the inspection of assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures and perform regular checks to identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production outputs, work orders, and team performance.
- Ensure all assembly logs, inspection reports, and other documentation are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Provide reports on production efficiency, quality control issues, and team performance to the Production Manager or other relevant stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to develop and refine assembly processes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and encourage team members to contribute ideas for efficiency improvements.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce all safety protocols and guidelines within the assembly area.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained in safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular safety audits and take corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, assembly, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods standing and working on assembly tasks.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
