Job Title: Prototype CNC Machinist

Job Summary
TalentWise is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Prototype CNC Machinist to join our team and be on site with one of our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components. The CNC Machinist will work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee CAM programming and operations of all CNC and Manual Machining Equipment
- CNC Machine complex geometries components in both metal and plastics
- Interact with design engineers on part functionality and advice on part suitability for machining
- Meet time and schedules for assigned work
- Perform non-CNC tasks when necessary: Non-cnc equipment operation. Hand-work operations, saw-cut operations. etc.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a prototyping environment with advanced CNC machine tools
- Experience with multi-axis, multi-channel turning centers (Hermle, Yasda, Haas)
- Experience with CAM software and CNC programming (Fusion 360, HyperMill, NX)
- Experience with CAD software and fixture design (Fusion 360, NX, Solidworks).
- Experience with being self-driven and autonomous and experience participating in a range of needs in the shop.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 5-axis milling equipment and pallet system management in ultra-precision manufacturing for optics, aerospace, or medical device industries.
- Experience being a problem solver.
- Experience with DFM (design for manufacturing).
- Firm understanding of CNC programs including formatting and editing.
- Experience with complete ownership of scheduling, execution, and final delivery of prototyping tasks.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods standing and working on machinery.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
